This site now includes census details for Hambridge and links to other sites containing 'Hambridge people'. Besides information on the 2 clergymen (Charles Grueber and Charles Marson - both prolific authors), the rich culture of this small village is documented by the poems of James Marsh and the link with Cecil Sharp. There is plenty of information for family historians, including lists of the names of those who attended Rev. Grueber's funeral (plus any messages of condolence!), or gathered in the chapel one Good Friday in 1899 - (including what was sung, and by whom), or even, who were the benificiaries of free coal as part of a charity trust. |
